Yahoo! published an article about keeping us, cats, and dogs as well healthy during the winter.
It’s hot now where I live actually, but winters can be very cold sometimes. I don’t need to worry much because I live indoors, but for those cats cats living outdoors, tell your servants to take into account this advice:
- Keep all poisonous plants out of our reach and all your other pets.
- Be careful of using artificial snow and tree preservatives as it can be poisonous for us to consume.
- Bang on your car hood or honk you horn prior to starting the vehicle as it will scare off any cats attempting to warm itself on the engine block.
- Provide a warm safe place that your cat can rest outdoors; it should be well-insulated and you should offer high caloric food and fresh drinking water.
- Keep chocolate and alcohol away from cats as a small amount is extremely toxic.
- Clean your cat's feet when they come indoors; the chemicals used to de-ice the streets and sidewalks can irritate their sensitive feet.
